Wesley Smith consults with the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute on public policy. He is a vice president for policy and public affairs at Western Governors University. Smith’s experience includes directing the State of Utah’s policy and advocacy work in Washington, D.C. and serving as policy director for Governor Gary R. Herbert. As executive vice president and general counsel of Utah’s largest business association, the Salt Lake Chamber, Smith led statewide business policy and advocacy efforts. Prior to that, he clerked in the Office of White House Counsel and served as a political appointee in the administration of President George W. Bush.
