The January Newsmaker Breakfast will be an enhanced version of the Gardner Policy Institute’s monthly breakfast featuring an in-depth discussion on solutions to Utah’s air quality problem. The Institute will host and provide research on the topic.

The Gardner Institute is pleased to partner with the Deseret News and UCAIR for this event.  The breakfast will also serve to showcase reporters who are covering the issue of air quality.

Event Panelists:

  • Thom Carter, Director, Utah Clean Air Partnership (UCAIR)
  • Erica Evans, Reporter, Deseret News
  • Thomas Holst, Senior Energy Analyst, Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute
  • Moderator: Doug Wilks, Editor, Deseret News

Topics of discussion include:

  • The “Norway Example” – Can we look to other countries for examples of effective (or ineffective) methods to help air quality?
  • 2030 Olympic Bid – Can a looming deadline push the issue and press policymakers to more effectively address our air quality?

Please RSVP to gardnerinstitute@eccles.utah.edu as space is limited. Media are invited to attend and ask questions.
