Julien Counts is a graduate assistant with the Gardner Institute demographics team. He is currently a second-year student in the Master of Science in Economics program and also pursuing a graduate certificate in statistics. His academic interests include political economy and data analysis.
Prior to attending the University of Utah and joining the Institute, Julien served 8 years on active duty in the United States Marine Corps as a Precision Weapons Repair Technician. He holds a B.A. in Sociology from Miami University and a B.A. in Economics from Colorado State University. Additionally, he has earned a certificate in Data Analytics from the University of Utah and multiple certificates in automotive technology from Aims Community College.
