The Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute prepares small area population estimates to support informed decision making in Utah. Here we share annual small area housing and population estimates for Salt Lake County and Utah County from 2010 to 2016. We produced these results using the housing unit method, one of the most widely used estimation methods for detailed geographic levels. Refer to the research links for the full research briefs and downloadable tract level datasets for both counties. The visualization below can also be used to explore tract level results.
This is the first release of tract-level estimates for Utah County. We have previously released 2010-2014 estimates for Salt Lake County (refer to research links). The Utah Legislature funds the production of these estimates.
