The Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute announces its next Newsmaker Breakfast, a monthly event highlighting issues impacting the State of Utah. The October topic will be health care, the Affordable Care Act, current efforts underway to reform America’s health care system, and its impact on Utahns.

Our Newsmaker will be a representative from the Utah Governor’s Office. Gov. Herbert has stated that change to the nations health care system is a “necessity” and hopes all sides can still seek compromise. He has been in senior discussions with members of Congress and Former Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price about how states can play a significant role in addressing America’s health care challenges. The Governor’s Office will discuss questions on the Affordable Care Act’s impact on Utah, efforts repeal and/or reform it, and the role Utah is playing in the national debate. The conversation will be moderated by Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute Natalie Gochnour. Media are invited to attend.

The event will be held in the Ivory Ballroom of the Thomas S. Monson Center. A light breakfast will be served. RSVP to gardnerinstitute@eccles.utah.edu as space is limited.
